Specifications Made from naturally weather resistant eucalyptus, the perch is a comfortable size for bantams as well as large breeds of chickens to grip. Eucalyptus is a very hard and strong wood, as it's a natural material you will find some splitting along the length of the pole, this is not a defect and is part of the wood's characteristics. It comes untreated, you can use it straight out the box or you can use a pet safe varnish, paint or wood stain. To get longer life from your perch we recommend you paint, varnish or stain it. Chicks are quick to learn how to use nipples.
Great design, simple to set up, easy to clean, can be mounted to the side of a brooder, through wire mesh or sits comfortably on top of your Comfort heat plate or Brinsea Ecoglow brooder. Experts recommend approx 5 to 10-day old chicks per drinker nipple. Hinged top makes it easy to check the water level and top up as required.

This is an aftermarket replacement float valve with 15mm bsp male fitting. The float comes complete with fixing nut and rubber washer.

The handles fit neatly onto the run of your chicken coop or hutch to allow you to manoeuvre your pet's home precisely and with both hands. If you love your chooks, why not feed them a small treat of wheat in the afternoon! Remember just 5 to 10 grams especially if your birds are on a complete, balanced pellet diet like Weston Free Range or Peak Layer Pellets. Too much wheat is not a good thing... remember just as a treat feed as wheat is already the main ingredient in all commercial poultry feeds.

Better than tent pegs!
These fantastic screw in pegs are much better than ordinary tent pegs.Each peg has an inbuilt handle making them very easy to screw into the ground. They stay in better than traditional tent pegs and are also quicker and easier to remove because you can simply unscrew them. The pegs come in a pack of 12 with a drill adapter for even quicker screwing in and unscrewing. To make sure you don't lose the adapter, it simply twists into place in your Eglu's run mesh as shown. These pegs are super strong and long-lasting too, and they come in the iconic Omlet green!

This cover has been designed to fit anywhere on the roof of the Omlet Pet Walk-in Run, providing your pets with an area that is sheltered from the wind and rain. Complete with PVC rope edge which allows waterproof overlap of multiple covers. This cover is made from clear plastic, allowing sunlight through whilst keeping the rain, hail and snow out.This cover measures 95cm x 297cm.The cover can be used in enclosures with two or three panels wide. In an enclosure with two panels wide, the upper half of the side rails is also covered. This non-electric chicken fencing works well to contain your poultry and keep them where you want them (away from your veggies and flower beds!) The nylon-rope style netting has some flex in it which accommodates for slightly uneven ground.

At Appletons we prefer to grow our birds (both commercial hybrids and heritage) on to point of lay using the Weston Chicks Choice as it has higher levels of protein essential for health, growth and feather production. Chickens do not stop growing at 8 weeks.
We would only recommend swopping over to Chook Grow if you personally had issues with the coccidiostat added to the Chicks Choice or are feeding a range of ages of poultry together in one pen and you have laying hens that have access to the same feed. Chook Grow does not contain any coccidiostat (which the Chicks Choice does) There is a 3 to 4% difference in the protein levels which we feel is significant – so if you can keep them on the Chicks Choice then that is what we recommend.

Maintenance: Add Poultry Vit Boost Tonic to the birds’ water at a rate of 5ml to 4.5ltrs of water for 5 days once a month.
During periods of stress: Feed at a rate of 5ml to 1ltr of drinking water for 5 days once a month.
