Mice
A pair of pet mice need a minimum space of 80cm x 50cm x 50cm. Larger groups of mice will require more space. When choosing a cage, prioritize ample floor space and consider adding multiple levels, hiding spaces, and enrichment items like toys and climbing structures.
Rats
As a general guide , rats should be allocated a minimum of 3 square feet (0.085cbm) of cage space per individual. Considering their intelligence, sociability and consistent activity, a recommended minimum cage size for housing 2 rats would be around 50x100x50cm (0.250cbm). This ensures that these social creatures have sufficient room to play, explore and exhibit their natural behaviours, and promotes their overall well-being and happiness.
The Habitat Cage is 88x56x49cm. (overall 0.24 cbm)
The area will increase again in size once ramps and platforms and external orange tunnels are added.
