PRE-ORDERS: Please note if your order includes a PRE-ORDER Eglu Coop, Eglu Hutch or Omlet Outdoor Pet Run that requires shipping with our carrier all items on this order will be shipped together. Shipping is calculated on sending everything out on one pallet as one consignment. We are happy to re-assess shipping costs if you would like smaller items sent earlier.
We courier nationwide. Post Haste Couriers is our preferred national courier for all smaller items. We find them reliable and they offer us a good service. When ordering please select your delivery address carefully to avoid delays. We cannot courier to PO Box numbers.
All pricing is to mainland North and South Island addresses. Additional delivery charges will apply for Waiheke Island, Chatham Islands, Great Barrier and Stewart Island. (See pricing below.) Overnight delivery is the next working day and not 100% guaranteed. Our courier collects fulfilled orders early each afternoon Monday to Friday. For orders received prior to 12 noon we will do our best to dispatch same day. Any order received after 12pm will most likely be dispatched the following day. We do our very best to fulfil orders as quickly as we can.
We deliver nationwide either to your door or to the nearest Mainfreight Depot for collection.
Kitsets are flat packed and shrink wrapped on pallets prior to dispatch if sent with our carrier. Please ensure driveway access is achievable as Mainfreight trucks are a good size. If the driveway is not wide enough, has low foliage and or no turn around bay then Mainfreight will not be able to deliver direct to your door. One truck driver is allocated per truck and it is appreciated if the customer can assist with hand unloading if no loading facilities are available. Otherwise please select depot collection. We can also assist with local delivery please enquire as to price.
Please bring a good sized box (with holes!) or pet carry cage to take your girls home in.
We can make up travel boxes if you have none available but we do have a small per box charge for this service.
As of the end of March 2019 we will no longer be able to ship birds with Mainfreight. Due to new health and safety rules and regs they can no longer take our lovely feathered friends on board. We are currently looking for a new carrier. Cool Critter Cartage is also no longer in operation. Until further notice we will therefore not be able to ship our birds to main centre depots for collection.
Hatching Eggs are couriered using the standard (two-day) courier service on a Monday and Tuesday allowing for ample time for delivery prior to the weekend to avoid parcels sitting idle in depots. We sell a minimum of 6 hatching eggs.
Eggs are individually wrapped and boxed and well protected with plenty shredded paper. The outer box is well labelled with plenty of fragile and hatching egg labels. We have a degree in wrapping eggs well!! We have been doing it for 15+ years!

Your address might appear slightly different on your parcel address label than the one you popped in when ordering. This is because the Shipping Address API we use has access to NZ CoreLogic Address Data. CoreLogic Address Data is trusted by the NZ Emergency Services for being the most accurate and up to date physical address data in NZ. CoreLogic addresses are not estimated, they are verified and accurately geocoded.
Delivery is available weekdays only: Monday to Friday.
South Island residential & business addresses are usually next day delivery but can take a couple of days longer.
North Island residential & business addresses are sent on the Poste Haste standard inter island delivery ticket. Please allow 2 to 6 working days for delivery.
Rural addresses will add an extra day or two onto the delivery time.
If you would like a Saturday North Island delivery please ask.
Post Haste and their Contractors do their best to deliver within the allocated time frames but sometimes delivery can take longer. We do not offer refunds on shipping if your parcel is not delivery within your expected delivery time frame.
Unfortunately delays due to weather events and natural disasters are out of everyone's control and we cannot plan and compensate for these.
We do not offer refunds on shipping if parcels are not delivered next day for Overnight Delivery. We do our very best and they do their best so please be understanding if your order has not arrived on time especially pre-Christmas. We are more than happy to offer a refund to the value of the difference between overnight delivery and standard delivery if the delay is due to a Post Haste human error.
No One Home
Post Haste delivers Monday to Friday and should there be no-one at home the driver will leave a card or attempt a re-delivery. If you request a non-signature delivery or 'leave at door' or 'on back porch' or similar we cannot be responsible for these goods if you return home and they are no longer there. So please note if you request this option it is at your risk.
Courier prices are based on all mainland addresses for both North and South Islands. We will notify you of any additional charges should you require a delivery to Waiheke Island, Chatham Islands, Great Barrier or Stewart Island.
Waiheke Island: The additional cost is $32 per parcel
Great Barrier : The additional charge is $44 per parcel.
For our customers on Great Barrier we normally sent to My Sky Auckland and they arrange for their own delivery from there.
Chatham Islands: An additional charge of $25 plus $5.00 per 1 kg thereafter will be added on receipt of order. Stewart Island: An additional manual charge of $8 per parcel will be applied on receipt of your order.

Door to Door or to the Depot
We deliver nationwide either to your door or to the nearest Mainfreight Depot for collection. All our timber poultry and animal housing is built to pre-assembled kitset specifications for more cost effective freighting.
Already To Go?
Once your order is ready to dispatch on Mainfreight we will notify you via email that it is on its way and let you know the Mainfreight Consignment Number. We also add your email contact to the Mainfreight tracking system so that you, as the customer, receive regular email alerts as to the status of your consignment: In Transit, At Delivery Depot, Out for Delivery and Delivered. Once your consignment has reach the delivery depot that Depot will give you a call to let you know it is either at the depot for collection or out for delivery.
If your order arrives damaged, please note it on the delivery docket, photograph the consignment and let us and Mainfreight know immediately.
Mainfreight do their very best to deliver your consignment as soon as possible. Deliveries to Wellington, Blenheim and Christchurch Depots are usually next day but can take an extra day if freight volumes are high. Deliveries to all North Island Depots north of Wellington plus Oamaru, Cromwell, Timaru, Gore, Dunedin and Invercargill takes two days to three days. If your address is rural then your consignment is sent out on a zone truck which can add a day or two onto delivery times. Please note zone trucks do not deliver every week day to every rural area as it is not cost effective. Please be realistic when considering delivery timeframes especially over peak times when volumes of freight increases ie: Christmas.

Yes, You Can Arrange Your Own Freight
If you prefer to arrange your own carrier to collect from our yard please let us know. We have loading facilities (a forklift) so can assist with loading onto a truck. There is a small charge to flat-pack your order on a pallet and shrink-wrap for transit. $46 incl. Please remember to talk with your carrier about arranging transit insurance. We do not cover any damage once your consignment leaves our yard.
All our courier satchels are now compostable. Yay! comPOST Packs are made from 100% biodegradable and compostable materials; corn starch, PLA (synthesised from corn) and PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate). PLA (Polylactide) is a bio-based, biodegradable material made from renewable plant material (starches such as corn husks, rice straw and wheat straw).
The most sustainable option for end users once finished with a comPOST Pack is to put it in with their food scraps and garden waste. They will break down within 90* days in a compost environment in a non-toxic process. Yes, they’re fine in worm farms and will be broken down in a bokashi too. comPOST Pack materials have been certified AS 5810-2010 for Home Composting, meaning they will be completely degraded by microorganisms in the natural world under compost conditions. Ultimately this generates carbon dioxide and water and does not pollute the environment. *The certification requirements are for 95% degradation within 180 days Well, that will depend on the conditions they’re in. In a ‘standard’ home compost, they have been certified (AS5810-2010) to biodegrade within 180 days, i.e. approx 6 months. Under commercial composting conditions, it would happen much faster, and as litter (e.g. under a tree) it would happen slower, but it will happen. The Australian Standard is one of the most rigorous in the world and includes a worm toxicity test which means that the comPOST Packs are safe to be eaten by the little, pink wriggly guys.
We love planet earth and like to think about future generations. We do our very best each time we parcel up an order to recycle packaging boxes and packaging material and thus produce minimal waste. Where we can we re-use packing paper. In our hatching egg boxes we use recycle shredded paper to keep eggs safe.
