Omlet Outdoor Run for Rabbits & Guinea Pigs
Give your rabbits room to hop and explore, or your guinea pigs space to amble and forage, with Omlet's steel mesh Outdoor Run. Its green finish blends into the garden, while the modular design lets you plan an exercise area around your pets, their shelter and your available space.
Choose the lower Lo-Rise enclosure or a full-height Walk-In Run for easier access when feeding, cleaning and spending time with your animals. This is an exercise enclosure: provide suitable dry sleeping accommodation, shade and drinking water as part of the complete setup.
Seven local size options
Dimensions below are the width × length × height stated in the Appletons product options. Allow additional installation space for the outward-facing anti-tunnel skirt and door access.
Lo-Rise Run: 1.8m × 1.8m × 1.15m.
Walk-In Run Size A: 1.8m × 1.8m × 2.05m.
Walk-In Run Size B: 1.8m × 2.7m × 2.05m.
Walk-In Run Size C: 2.7m × 2.7m × 2.05m.
Walk-In Run Size D: 2.7m × 3.6m × 2.05m.
Walk-In Run Size E: 3.6m × 3.6m × 2.05m.
Walk-In Run Size F: 3.6m × 4.5m × 2.05m.
Choose space according to your animals' size, number, activity and time spent in the enclosure. Take the footprint of any hutch, feeding equipment and enrichment into account so adequate clear exercise space remains.
Construction and access
Steel weldmesh enclosure: mesh walls and roof supported by a pole-and-clip structure.
Lower wall mesh: approximately 25 × 75mm.
Upper wall and roof mesh: approximately 50 × 75mm.
Included anti-tunnel skirt: extends out around the perimeter to help discourage digging at the edges.
Walk-In stable-style door: upper and lower sections open independently for convenient access.
Lo-Rise access door: provides access without the height of a full walk-in enclosure.
Plan a connected habitat
Place an appropriately sized hutch inside the run, or connect a compatible Eglu Go Hutch using the correct connection kit. Check compatibility with your chosen run size before ordering fittings. A separately purchased Zippi Tunnel System can link suitable accommodation and exercise areas.
Compatible extensions allow layouts to grow over time. Available extension directions depend on the run: Lo-Rise width is limited, so check the correct kit before planning changes. Covers, porches, partitions, connection kits, tunnels, ground pegs and underfloor mesh are optional extras, not automatically included.
Zippi Rabbit Platforms do not fit this Outdoor Run. They are designed for the separate enclosed double-height Zippi Run system.
Ground protection and predator precautions
Fit the skirt and secure the enclosure according to the instructions, checking for gaps on uneven ground. The perimeter skirt is not a complete mesh floor and does not remove the need to monitor rabbits digging within the run.
No run is completely predator-proof. Smaller predators may pass through the larger upper mesh, and very small or young animals may need additional suitable protection to prevent escape. Assess local risks and consider additional protection where needed. Omlet recommends that pets are not left unattended in this enclosure overnight; provide appropriate secure night accommodation.
Weather protection and maintenance
The mesh roof is not a rain cover. Optional compatible covers can create sheltered or shaded areas, but maintain ventilation and make sure pets can move away from direct sun and adverse weather. Position the run on suitable ground and move animals into secure accommodation before moving or altering it. Even smaller assembled runs are relatively heavy, so arrange help if repositioning.
Remove waste regularly and inspect mesh, clips, doors, fastenings and ground edges. Check the coating for damage and corrosion, especially in coastal locations. Follow the manufacturer's maintenance guidance and repair damaged areas promptly.
