Easy to install: Simply use an 8mm drill bit and make a small hole in the bottom of your chosen water container. The hole needs to be just smaller than the threaded bit on the nipple. Self screw into the bottom of the container.

Tips for training chooks onto nipples.
The golden rule for teaching birds to use any type of new watering system like nipples is to remove all other sources of water! As long as they have what they are familiar with, they will use it first and will never try something new. If their only choice is to drink from that new shiny metal thingy hanging under the pipe or bucket, it will only take one thirsty bird to try it and show everybody else where to get a drink. To teach your birds to use the nipples, remember the golden rule - remove all other sources of water!When you have installed the new nipple system, simply gather your chooks around and show them by tapping the nipples with your fingers, which causes water to leak. That will get their attention, and they learn very quickly.
We recommend 2-3 chooks per nipple.Minimum 2 nipples for a small flock of 3.

An easy answer for keeping the top of the heat plate clean!
Heating plates can get very dirty from chicks jumping on top of them. The heat plate cover is sold in a pack of 3 and are washable and re-usable. Made of transparent plastic (PET). After each use, the cover can be cleaned by rinsing it with warm water to remove the dirt and dust. The cover is suitable for the new Safety 600 & 1200 heating plate models (models from 2019 onwards).

We have 2 of these heat plates, work very well with a brooder set up. I’d recommend getting the cover as well to stop chicks pooping on it. Fionna and Gordon are fantastic, we have been chicken keeping for 15 years with their helpful knowledge and service.
