That will get their attention and they learn very quickly.

If the preferred option for brooding chicks is a hanging lamp, then the heat emitters and infra-red lamps are a good choice.It is well known that prolonged light can disrupt growth rates and damage eyes of developing chicks as well as causing restlessness which can also lead to pecking issues in chicks. If your preferred option is to have some light available, we now stock high quality 250 watts tempered (Hardened) glass Infra-Red lamps. Infra-red will still emit a gentle red glow which is proven to be less damaging to eyes than prolonged exposure to white light. (These are commonly seen in restaurants keeping food warm) This will also reduce the risks associated with restlessness still allowing growing chicks to rest without the interruption of bright light.Note: These heat lamps produce an intense heat, therefore it is important a good quality ceramic lamp holder is used at all times. Suitable to use in the heavy-duty heat lamp set or in the ceramic bulb holders.
For those that prefer no light (and no glass), we recommend the ceramic heat emitters. These do a fantastic job of radiating heat and giving the chicks the most natural way of growing. We have found chicks raised under radiant heat grow well, happy and fast.

Feeding guide: These freeze-dried treats can be fed dry or rehydrated. To dry-feed, break up to use for training, treats or meal toppers. If feeding wet, soak the desired amount in a small dish of water for 10–15 minutes to return the meat to its original raw state. We recommend treats make up no more than approximately 10% of a dog’s daily calories. Always ensure fresh clean water is available for your best friend.

If using a heat-emitting bulb then a reflector is essential. Using a reflector will trap the warmth and reflect it downwards making it much cozier for the chicks beneath it. The alloy reflector offers a sense of protection for the chicks and will reduce unnecessary heat loss. We do not recommend using a heat emitter in a lamp holder without a reflector, as the heat will rise - remember hot air rises!

The kit includes two rotatable trays, designed for easy and mess-free refilling of oil. Olba has also provided two long wall brackets with press nuts and fixing materials. For optimal results in preventing red mites from reaching the chickens, a minimum distance of 8cm between the perch and the hen house wall is required.

Attaching the Anti Red Mite Kit is simple. Fill the rotating trays three-quarters full with the oil of your choice, which will prevent mites from reaching your chickens.
It is important to regularly check the trays. If you notice any red mites, it is advisable to treat the rest of the hen house as well. Additionally, ensure that the red mite trays always contain enough oil to maintain this natural and effective method of pest control.
