Omlet Cat Balcony Enclosure for narrow outdoor spacesGive your cat room to enjoy the breeze, watch birds and explore outdoors in a contained space. The Omlet Cat Balcony Enclosure is a narrow, full-height steel-mesh catio designed for balconies and terraces, and also suited to small gardens and narrow decks where a wider enclosure would take up too much room. The walk-in height lets you join your cat for play or quiet time together, while the slim footprint makes use of a long, narrow space. The enclosure provides a dedicated area for your cat rather than making the surrounding balcony automatically safe.Choose your sizeAppletons offers three sizes, listed as length × width × height:
Small Cat Balcony: approximately 1.8m × 0.9m × 2.05m.
Medium Cat Balcony: approximately 2.7m × 0.9m × 2.05m.
Large Cat Balcony: approximately 3.6m × 0.9m × 2.05m.
These are the rounded dimensions used in Appletons' options. Omlet's detailed specifications list lengths of 184cm, 276cm and 368cm respectively, with a front-to-back width of 92cm and a height of 205cm. Use the detailed measurements when checking a tight space, and confirm the complete footprint, fixing clearances and door swing before ordering.Coated steel mesh and walk-in accessThe enclosure uses strong steel mesh with a dark green coating for an unobtrusive garden or balcony appearance. Mesh openings are 25 × 75mm on the lower half and 50 × 75mm on the upper half. Check suitability for your individual cat, especially kittens or particularly small cats. The full-height door is 1.81m high, and Omlet states that the door can be positioned anywhere on the balcony run. Plan its position to preserve access around your balcony and keep the opening clear of furniture and climbing accessories.A removable run skirt is supplied. It can be left off or removed where appropriate to the installation, but it does not replace the requirement to secure an elevated enclosure to the building.Important: securing an elevated enclosureWhen installed on a balcony, roof terrace or other elevated position, the enclosure must be secured directly to the building with appropriate metal fixings to help prevent high winds from lifting it. Omlet specifies attachment to a suitable balcony railing or bolting to the building. Suitable fixings must be selected for the structure; do not assume that the enclosure's weight alone is sufficient. If you are unsure how to secure it safely, consult a qualified installer before use. Check that your proposed location and fixing method are suitable before purchasing. In windy conditions, Omlet advises removing shades, hammocks and covers as a secondary safety measure. This is particularly important because covers can catch the wind. Removing accessories is not a substitute for securing the enclosure itself.Make the space comfortable for your catAdd suitable outdoor scratching posts, resting places and toys to create opportunities for climbing, stretching and watching the surroundings. Keep routes accessible for your cat's age and agility, leave space around the door and avoid positioning accessories in a way that interferes with containment.Provide shade, fresh water and an appropriate dry resting area. The mesh roof is for containment, not a solid weatherproof shelter. Compatible covers can add shade or rain protection, but must be used with appropriate anchoring and removed when advised for windy conditions.Furniture, cat trees, scratching posts, beds, toys and covers are optional additions unless explicitly included in your selected package.Optional porch and extensionsA compatible porch can provide a separate entrance area with an airlock-style arrangement for more controlled access. Extension components can also adapt the enclosure to a larger space. These are optional purchases; confirm the required panels, compatibility and available room with Appletons before planning an extended layout.Assembly and ongoing careAssemble the enclosure according to the supplied Omlet instructions, including all specified clips and connections. Before introducing your cat, check door closures, roof panels, the ground perimeter and every fixing for gaps or movement.Inspect the mesh, clips, door and building attachments regularly and after severe weather. Repair or replace damaged parts promptly. If moving the enclosure, Omlet recommends help from at least one other person because even the smaller models are relatively heavy.Introduce your cat gradually and supervise their first visits. Reliable containment depends on correct installation and ongoing checks; no enclosure should be treated as a guarantee against every escape attempt.Omlet warranty🛡️ Backed by the Omlet Guarantee - All Omlet products are covered by the Omlet manufacturer's warranty.
