All 20 chicks are doing well. Very busy and noisy spending days out in the sun and on the grass with a shelter and there heater in it. Inside at night. Second time I have bought these chicks and they become friendly productive hens.

The pickup and care have gone very smoothly. It was very helpful to chat with knowledgeable and experienced staff at the time of pickup. Having stocks of water containers to choose from for the chicks was also a big help. Two weeks on, they’re all doing well and growing so fast!
The chicks were very healthy & alert on pickup, chirped all of the 2 hr journey home & fell asleep exhauted as I drove in my gate. I popped them under the clucky hen & they bounced out in the morning very bright eyed. Now running everywhere, squabling over food & growing little tails. They love the crumble.

If you are looking for hens that lay lots of lovely brown eggs then these are the chicks for you!
Chicks will need to be kept warm in a brooder box with a warm area (heat lamp or Brinsea heat plate or Comfort heat plate as a heat source) where they can sleep and a cooler area they can feed and drink. Until they are fully feathered and the weather starts to warm up they will need to be kept indoors or in a shed. Happy to show the buyer what to do and what they need to eat etc. We recommend Weston Milling Chicks Choice as the optimum feed to grow good, healthy chicks. Weston feed contains the right type of proteins (animal proteins).
IMPORTANT
Please note there is a small possibility the pick-up date could change. We will notify you via email on hatch day if the hatchery experiences a short hatch. This only happens once in a blue moon however it is worth knowing. If you live out of town it is always best to give us a call before you head out to confirm the chicks have arrived.
Never count your chicks until they have hatched!!
WHAT TO BRING FOR PICKUP
Please bring a small box with some kitchen paper towel on the bottom.
A small box (shoe-box size) is best as the chicks will stay warmer 😊
