          Weston Chick Choice Starter Crumble

          This is my 3rd bag of crumble. I thought it was a great product and you actually can use it until point of lay.
          However, I have purchased new containers which I was needing to fill the crumble with a small cup.
          I have used only a 3rd of the bag and have already found 6 pieces of macro plastic. All are solid in colour. Colour varies. I have contacted Weston Milling and I am waiting to hear back. This is why the rating is low. It has to do with the product... Not Appletons.

          Everything Needed

          My absolute go to. After much research into various brands etc. Weston came up trumps in all areas of nutrition, ingredients and wellbeing outcomes even though I have to order it online and ship it from the South Island to the North Island. Having raised 16 chicks from different breeds, clutched, and in different methods. I have never lost any, had any health issues or development issues.

          I also use their Chook Grow and Free-range Layer Pellets.

          Why no hens for sale at Point-of-Lay?

          I have absolutely no criticism of Appleton's, their service, and their sale of 9-week-old Red Shavers with ancillary feed and equipment. My gripe is that I cannot buy hens at point-of-lay. I can see why they sell birds so young - it's most convenient for them - but it's very awkward for me. I need to have a second chook-house and yard and grow the hens on until they are old enough to be introduced to the others. Consequently, I will be looking elsewhere for my replacement hens in future.
