This is a small family run business. They are easy to deal with, quick & efficient and always happy to help.

We switched to this after having had them on Chick Choice Starter Crumble and then Chook Grow from Weston as well. We chose this as our Girls spend the entire day out foraging so wanted to ensure they got sufficient Protein to offset their grazing. Consequently we have healthy happy Girls with loads of personality of different sizes, ages, and breeds.

My ladies prefer this feed over anything else; bugs, bread, fruit, nuts, protein, veg EVERYTHING! My girls are still laying in August and are absolutely thriving since switching.

My girls love this feed, they have put on weight and seem full of life. Egg laying not long after starting this feed, and my silkie has laid nearly every day she is just under 2 years of age. It certainly has been a great change for her. Great service and support from Appletons.

Well actually I can’t answer your question honesty right now. As you know when feeding your hens a new product you mix in some of the new with the old so your hens can adjust naturally. So I am going to have to wait until all their other feed is gone before I can give you an honest reply to your question.

My hens love this. I tried other ones before, but they seem to know the difference.

Ordering online and pick up at my convenience (or Mums, thanks Mum) is easy.
We're going through them faster at the moment as the sparrows have learnt team effort to get in the feeder!

My chickens have started to lay more consistently and appear so much healthier since starting on the pellets.

Westons Peak Layer Pellets

Great to transition to these pellets from the Chick crumble. They're a good size and the chooks like them. 3 of our 6 hens are now laying and the others don't look far behind. We supplement with dark leafy greens, carrots/pumpkin, edible weeds and occasional seaweed. They're really happy and healthy. nice orange yolks.

Chooks LOVE them, more than other brands from Farmlands etc.
