We have 2 of these heat plates, work very well with a brooder set up. I’d recommend getting the cover as well to stop chicks pooping on it. Fionna and Gordon are fantastic, we have been chicken keeping for 15 years with their helpful knowledge and service.

A great heat plate for my newly hatched chick's. Just what I needed.

I love these! The chicks love them too. So easy, just plug in and forget. Cheap to run, no fire risk. Just remember to adjust the height as the chicks grow (easy to do). I made a plastic bag covered cardboard cover for the top of mine, as the chicks like sitting on them when they're a bit older and occasionally pooping! 🤣 They're also really handy for sitting the nipple waterer on too. I put a plastic clickkclack lid (with a paper towel folded into it) underneath the water nipple to catch the drips created while chicks are drinking. The leg of the warmer plate holds the drip plate in place.
I liked the heat plates I ended up buying three! Two small ones and one the next size up.

I'm using this heat plate for two chicks that are older than is recommended, but it is working out great. The chicks love it.

Just as I was hoping, no constant light, super cosy over the wood shavings, very happy wee chicks, super easy to keep clean, and doesn't kill our off-grid power system!! Top drawer product. Also, super easy and efficient service. Highly recommend!
