The bottle supplied is a different colour to the one in the photo. No wire supplied. The 600ml bottle is designed to fit in the Omlet Hay rack. If you wish to attach directly to the run of a hutch best to use cable ties. Two or three tied together work well.
Please take the time to read the instructions on the side of the drink bottle for best results.
CAUTION - Follow the instructions below to prevent leakage:1. Completely fill the bottle with fresh, clean water - not half-filled.2. Hens can sometimes kick the wood shavings out the bowl when fluffing around to lay. With the chicken astroturf, they cannot, so eggs are laid directly on top. Perfect! - to await your collection. 😊

This handy little device will come in very handy to double-check your humidity is where it should be!Precision Hygrometers, bi-metal type available in 45mm and 70mm — made by TFA Germany. These hygrometers have a bimetallic mechanism and it's possible to calibrate them completely. You can use them as a rough indication of relative humidity in incubators and intensive care brooders. The relative humidity is indicated as a percentage from 0-100.
The humidity in an incubator required depends on the kind of eggs and the extent to which the shell is porous. An egg should lose approx 11% to 13% of its weight during incubation. By calculating how much weight the egg should lose throughout incubation, you can determine whether you should adjust the humidity in the incubator.
You can use this hygrometer as an indicator and then by weighing the eggs regularly. This combination is the best method to determine the humidity very accurately. These are one of the best quality hygrometers available, made by TFA in Germany.
The smaller gold one is the 45mm and the blue one is the 70mm hygrometer.
When it comes to incubation there are 4 key things to remember: Temperature, Humidity, Turning and Ventilation. Make sure you get all 4 right!

BOX C and Box D - will make a lo-rise run into a Walk-In Size A Run. Please note if you have an existing MK2 lower door in your lo-rise run, you will also need to replace the lower door with an MK3 lower door so they are compatible.

Heating plates can get very dirty from chicks jumping on top of them. With this cover, this problem is solved for good. The shape ensures that when chicks try to jump on top slip back down again. The cover is simple to place and remove. Made of transparent plastic (PET) and very solid. After each use, clean by rinsing with warm water to remove dirt and dust. Flubavet is added as part of the worm treatment for your birds. Formulated as a source of energy, protein and essential vitamins & minerals for healthy hens and great tasting eggs with golden yolks. It is recommended to worm your birds every 3 to 6 months, and there is no withholding period for eggs or meat with this product.

TOP TIP! Look for a layer feed that contains meat & bone meal (proper animal protein) rather than plant-based protein or synthetically manufactured protein. This point of difference between the two types of proteins makes a huge difference. We feed a complete, nutritionally balanced feed with a high crude protein percentage of 18 -19% to our flock. We see the results in our birds every day: top egg production, good health and very few pecking issues. It is also good to hear positive feedback from our customers once they start using our high-protein feeds containing ruminant protein. 👍

Providing your newly hatched chicks with the right heat can make all the difference.If the preferred option for brooding chicks is a hanging lamp, then heat emitters and infra-red lamps are a good choice.It is well known that prolonged light can disrupt growth rates and damage the eyes of developing chicks as well as causing restlessness, which can lead to pecking issues. If your preferred option is to have some light available, these high-quality 250-watt tempered (hardened) glass Infra-Red lamps emit a gentle red glow, which is proven to be less damaging to eyes than prolonged exposure to white light.Note: These heat lamps produce an intense heat; therefore, it is important a good-quality ceramic lamp holder is used at all times. Suitable to use in the heavy-duty heat lamp set or in ceramic bulb holders.
For those that prefer no light (and no glass), we recommend the ceramic heat emitters. These do a fantastic job of radiating heat and giving the chicks the most natural way of growing.

We have 2 of these heat plates, work very well with a brooder set up. I’d recommend getting the cover as well to stop chicks pooping on it. Fionna and Gordon are fantastic, we have been chicken keeping for 15 years with their helpful knowledge and service.
