Three easy-to-reach laying compartments are provided for your hens. Fill nest boxes with untreated wood shavings, hay, or use our chicken astroturf nest liners. If using wood shavings, ensure nest boxes are regularly refilled to prevent broken eggs. Place a pair of nest or fake eggs in one box to encourage hens to lay. Hens prefer to lay where other hens have laid.

Two-tier drop down roost | No-spill doorstop
Key features include a two-tier drop-down roost rack which folds away against the side wall for easier coop cleaning.
A handy doorstop is also included to stop wood shavings from spilling out when the person access door is opened. The doorstop is removable.
Person access door allows good access for easy cleaning. Solid plywood floor keep floor litter dry and perfect for a deep litter system.

Sturdy ramp
Solid timber ramp leads up to hen house for chicken access. Shutable pop-hole to keep hens safe at night from predators.

Layout?

Best Position and Access
Carefully consider the placement of your hen house. Position solid walls to protect against prevailing wind and rain. It is advised to orient the front mesh panel towards the sun, as sunlight is beneficial. Ensure easy access to nest boxes, as egg collection is a daily task. Additionally, provide ample space for accessing the person door, particularly for cleaning, allowing room for a wheelbarrow.

Lovely, clean eggs to collect each day. We have seen no broken eggs since using the chicken astroturf. Hens sometimes kick the wood shavings out when fluffing around to lay. With the chicken astroturf, they cannot, so eggs are laid directly on top and stay clean and unbroken.

(please google latest range online) Upgrading to a Colorsteel Endura roof enhances aesthetics, reduces glare associated with galvanized iron, and complements your home and outbuildings effectively.

Add a Rolled Gutter?

Rolled Gutter at Rear?
We can add a rolled gutter in galvanized iron if needed, or if you want a roof colour, choose the Colorsteel Endura option. Rolled gutters look good and remove the sharp corro-iron edge, which could be at head height for some. If you can walk around your hen house, it's best to choose this option. A rolled gutter also guides water to the gutter ends, preventing a dripline.
