  • Nipple Drinker with Extension Elbow Nipple Drinker with Extension Elbow

    Nipple Drinker with Extension Elbow

    2 reviews

Fits into the side of a bucket or water container. Multi-use chicken, quail & rabbit nipple drinker complete with extension elbow & seal.Ideal for making your own drinking system for your pets. This is a high flow, multi-directional nipple which allows water to flow in larger droplets than standard drinker nipples, even when pushed sideways unlike other nipples which only allow water through when push upwards thus making it easier for your pets to drink from with minimal effort.Just like all nipple drinkers, these must be fitted to a gravity water system, and are not suitable for mains pressure. Can be fitted to the side of a bucket/water container or in-line on your water pipe. Tips for training chooks onto nipples  The golden rule for teaching birds to use any type of new watering system like nipples is to remove all other sources of water! As long as they have what they are familiar with they will use it first and will never try something new. If their only choice is to drink from that new shiny metal thingy hanging under the pipe or bucket, it will only take one thirsty bird to try it and show everybody else where to get a drink. To teach your birds to use the nipples, remember the golden rule - remove all other sources of water! When installing the new nipple system, simply gather your chooks around and show them by tapping the nipples with your fingers which cause water to leak. That will get their attention and they learn very quickly. We recommend 1-3 chooks per nipple.

Rooster with 18L bucket drinker

Selecting the right drinker/s for your chickens and poultry area is worth doing. Using purpose-built poultry feeders and drinkers will save time, energy and money in the long run and keep your chooks happy and healthy. Expecting your chooks to drink out of an old dirty bucket is not going to get the best production from your hens or make your daily chores a pleasure. Buckets of water 'green up' pretty quick and get easily tipped over. Having a reliable, fresh source of water available at all times is key to good health and good egg production. Chooks drink lots of water and they like it clean (just like you!) We have some great drinkers available.
