Multi-directional, high flow nipple. Quality high flow nipple drinker made in Holland. Multi-directional, unlike standard nipple drinkers which require to be pushed upwards to work, this drinker with work with sideways actions too. Designed for gravity feed (low pressure) only - please note not suitable for high-pressure mains. Easy to install: Simply use an 8mm drill bit and make a small hole in the bottom of your chosen water container. The hole needs to be just smaller than the threaded bit on the nipple. Self screw into the bottom of the container. Helps to reduce water spills where disease would live and breed under open water dishes. Tips for training chooks onto nipples. The golden rule for teaching birds to use any type of new watering system like nipples is to remove all other sources of water! As long as they have what they are familiar with they will use it first and will never try something new. If their only choice is to drink from that new shiny metal thingy hanging under the pipe or bucket, it will only take one thirsty bird to try it and show everybody elsewhere to get a drink. To teach your birds to use the nipples remember the golden rule - remove all other sources of water!When you have installed the new nipple system, simply gather your chooks around and show them by tapping the nipples with your fingers which cause water to leak. That will get their attention and they learn very quickly. We recommend 3-4 chooks per nipple.

Shavings are better than wood chip or sawdust as shavings offer nice curls of timber rather than dust or chips. Deep litter is a term used to describe the floor of a chook house where loose dry material (wood shavings) are used. If mixed with chicken manure and additional dry litter as required, deep litter will not need removing for 6 to 12 months. Our recommended choice. These are full, natural size hens eggs. 70mm long x46mm in diameter. Painted over the wood for a very smooth finish and are most consistent to real eggs. Sold in pairs. These are the brood or fake eggs we like to use at Appletons. Keep a pair in the nest box to encourage your hens where to lay. We recommend investing in some false eggs. Very handy to have for a few reasons! We place them in the laying boxes when pullets are POL (point of lay) to encourage them to lay in the nest boxes. Hens will go and lay where there is usually an egg or two so having a pair of fake eggs permanently in the nest box/es is a good idea. Collect the fresh eggs daily and leave the fake eggs as an indicator to your hens. Slipping some wooden eggs under a broody hen to keep her sitting is another reason to have a pair...and fake eggs are solid so cannot be pecked at... collect fresh eggs often, to reduce the risk of hens eating eggs.

If you want to place your Zippi Shelter on a Zippi Platform, you will need to secure it to the floor panel to prevent it from sliding as your pets run in and out, jump on top or just bump into it when playing. This is easily done with these Zippi Shelter Fixing Pins. They work with all platform setups, and don’t stop you from connecting your Shelter with the fun Play Tunnels. The plastic pins are simply fastened into marked holes in the platform with the supplied screws. Once the screws are in place you can just pop the shelter on top, making it rigid and stable in all weathers.It is still super easy to keep your rabbit run accessories clean. When needed, you can just lift the Shelter off the Platforms to wipe both clean with a wet cloth and a pet friendly disinfectant.
