The hens were a bit slow in learning how to use the feeder. One of them was crafty enuf to step sideways and crane her neck sideways to access the food. We think they are managing it now.

We only have a few completely free range chooks and they have taken quite a while (months) to get used to standing on the ledge and being ok with the lid flipping up. We still have one chicken that won't stand on it so she waits for her friend to come along and stand on it for her but we are hoping she will eventually stand on it in time. Overall, once the chickens do use it, it is brilliant as like others have said we are no longer feeding all the sparrows in the country side and therefore are not going through as much feed.

It would be better without the blue plastic all over it. Difficult to get off. I would prefer a few scratches to the plastic cover which didn't entirely prevent scratches. Otherwise appears very good product

Awesome product. Our four chooks are all trained to use it now. We have no other bird problems stealing chook feed and it will keep out any potential rodents as well.

This is the best idea for eliminating wild birds from eating all your chicken feed!!
