February 2027 Brown Shaver Pullets - Pickup Only
Pre-order Brown Shaver pullets for your backyard flock, ready for collection at approximately 10 weeks of age. These are young female chickens being raised towards laying age, not hens already in lay when you collect them.
Price is per pullet. Select the quantity of birds you would like to order. This is a live-pullet listing, not the separate day-old Chick & Crumble Combo.

Closed on Thursdays. These pullets are pickup only, not available for delivery. Please note that pickup dates are subject to change.
When should they start laying?
This batch is expected to reach point of lay in late April 2027. Point of lay is an estimate of when the pullets will approach laying maturity, not a guaranteed first-egg date. Individual development and conditions can affect when laying begins.
Prepare for collection
Have suitable secure housing, clean bedding and fresh water ready before collecting your pullets. Allow for their growth and the needs of the whole flock, with appropriate shelter and protection from predators. When collecting your pullets, you’ll also need to take home a minimum of one 25kg bag of the same feed they have been raised on and are accustomed to, Weston Chicks Choice. Feed is purchased separately and can be ordered and paid for when you collect your pullets.
Bring suitable secure, well-ventilated transport containers and plan a direct journey home. If you already keep laying hens, raise these young pullets separately until they are old enough to join your flock. This is usually when they have finished their chick or grower feed and are ready for layer feed. Introduce them gradually at that stage.
Pickup and ordering information
Please read the livestock terms of purchase below before ordering. We do not send a reminder email if you have placed your order 7 days before pickup, so record the collection dates when ordering.
If your address is not local, for example Blenheim, Murchison or the West Coast, please use 270 Mt Heslington Road, Brightwater as your shipping address to avoid being charged shipping. This address instruction does not change the pickup-only nature of the order.
Terms of purchase
- Payment required on placing your order, thank you.
- Price is per pullet and includes GST.
- Minimum order of 3 pullets.
- Minimum 1 x 25kg bag of crumble will need to be purchased and paid for when pullets are picked up. Weston Chicks Choice
- Collection needs to be on the dates specified.
- We do not grow pullets on to 18 weeks of age or POL (point of lay)
- PICK UP ONLY from our Brightwater Store in Mt Heslington Road.
- We cannot courier livestock.
- Please do not place an order if you cannot collect.
- If you cancel your pullet pre-order you will be charged a cancellation fee of $5 per pullet, + a shopify payments cancellation fee of 3.6% if your payment was made online by card. Pay by internet banking to avoid the Shopify cancellation charge. Thank you.
- Please read our T and Cs. We do not offer refunds on livestock.
- All pullets are vaccinated at a day old against Marek's and Salmonella.
- Infrared beak trimming (IRBT) Please be aware this can happen. We request non IRBT chicks, but due to last minute short hatches the occasional batch we receive can arrive with this treatment.
Late pickup or no pickup
We can offer late pick-up which is usually the following Saturday morning.
There will be an additional cost of $4 per pullet for this service.
IMPORTANT: If we cannot make contact with you via email or phone within 7 days of the final pick up date (being the Saturday date listed in the product description) then we have the right to move your order to the next hatch.
