Grow them on alongside to POL then merge
We can place the chicken access 'pop-holes' wherever you would like them. In the front netting panel below the nesting boxes OR in the end panels alongside the person doors would be the recommended places. Please let us know on ordering where you would like them placed. There are a few pointers worth remembering: You do not want to create a through draught in the hen house so think about where your prevailing wind comes from and position of outside runs. We can also add additional pop-holes to give you more options in the future. Please let us know if you would like additional pop-holes as they do encur an additional cost.
Single Rail Perch
If you are keeping up to 6 birds in each house we recommend opting for the standard single rail perch system. This is one single perch 1.2m long and can sleep a maximium of 6 birds. The perch is removable and sits on a rail in the house. Can be easily removed for cleaning and allows for more room in the house than the two tier drop down system.
Two Tier Drop-Down Perch
If you are going to keep your houses 'packed to the max' with chooks then the two tier drop-down perch system is the one for you. This works off the back panel or divider panel depending on where the nest boxes are situated. The drop-down perch is two tiered and is attached to the wall and supported by a prop off the floor. It can be folded up against the wall when not in use for easy cleaning. It does, however, take up more room in the house. This option works best with drop down perch attached to the back wall and the nestboxes situated on the front netting panel. Please let us know which option you prefer.
We can design your Duo Classic Hen House to match your house roof colour and that of other outbuildings. This option looks very smart and is worth the upgrade. Colorsteel Endura have a standard range of colours. Select one of their popular colours from their range and we can upgrade from the standard galvanised iron to the colour of your choice. Roof iron, flashings and rolled gutter will all match.
We do offer an optional rolled gutter at the rear. If you want to remove the sharp edge of the corrugated roof then opting for the rolled gutter will hide this and make is neater and safer. Also a good way to save water off the roof and run it into a barrel down a chain.
Add an optional Standard Run to your Classic Duo. A run will give you added peace of mind knowing your hens are safe from predators or a good way to keep your girls off your immaculate flower beds or from discovering your veggie garden! The person size door to run can be positioned in any panel. This setup will require a level surface for assembly. If you require a customised run to suit your requirements we are happy to assist.
The Standard Run can be extended by additional panels to make a bigger run. Our Extended Run is app 4.6m in length. Top netting panel/s are optional - helps to keep the light breeds in and the sparrows out!
Both photos show runs with Apex Housing.
